In-House Digital Innovation

We have established an in-house Digital Innovation team consisting of computational designers and engineers who are dedicated to developing digital tools. The team has strong expertise in parametric design, programming, and machine learning, and also draws on input from the rest of our technical staff, collaborating closely with our highly experienced experts who cover all engineering disciplines.

The result is a range of exciting and innovative digital solutions, both for internal use at ABC and many that have also been adopted by our partners and clients. This means that we’re not just keeping up with developments—we’re actually driving them forward. Our digital tools help ensure quality, efficiency, and sustainability in all phases of construction.

  • Optimize our buildings, both in terms of the quality of the structures and the project’s environmental impact
  • Streamline and automate a wide range of complex and costly work processes, which support the work of our specialists
  • Test countless potential solutions much earlier in the project, so that important decisions can be made on a more informed basis

Digital Sustainability

Globally, the building and construction sector accounts for a large share of CO₂ emissions. According to the latest report from the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, the building and construction sector accounts for approximately 34% of global energy-related CO₂ emissions.

This is an unsustainable level, and therefore there is a great need for improvement. But the construction industry has long had a reputation for being a traditional (some would say old-fashioned) industry that is slow to adapt. This has led to stricter political regulations and climate goals in the construction sector, placing ever-greater demands on us as industry players. At the same time, society—with its constantly evolving and changing needs—is always in need of new buildings.

We are committed to solving this dilemma—and we believe that digital innovation is the key to doing so. With our innovative digital tools, we can automate many of the time-consuming and complex work processes, which both provides clarity and optimizes our projects. With these tools, we can explore far more design variations and experiment with different material choices during the concept and idea phases; optimize structures once the design is finalized; streamline the production of construction materials during the execution phase; and much more.

Tools for Existing Structures

Our tools aren’t just a game-changer for new construction —we also have a range of innovative tools tailored to working with society’s many existing structures, whether the goal is to renovate or optimize a building for its current use, or to transform it to serve new purposes.

With these tools at our disposal, we make it possible to build new structures, renovate, and transform within planetary boundaries while delivering buildings that best meet users’ needs—both now and in the future.

Our Digital Tools

Our Strategic Focus Areas

  • STRUCTURES
  • BUILDING SERVICES
  • FIRE SAFETY
  • PRODUCTION

Digital tools that optimize structural designs and reduce the carbon footprint in the early design phases. They automate manual processes and provide quick, informed visual feedback on design choices with a focus on sustainability.

Digital tools that optimize the design and coordination of building systems in the early phases. They automate complex calculations and system selection, and provide rapid, visual feedback on system design with a focus on energy efficiency, space optimization, and sustainable solutions.

Digital tools that streamline fire safety strategies and optimize fire protection in the early design phases. They automate complex calculations and code compliance checks, and provide rapid, visual feedback on design choices with a focus on safety, documentation, and early risk mitigation.

Digital tools that bridge the gap between design and production and enable early collaboration between consultants and contractors. They streamline the process, reduce errors and waste, and consolidate all building data in one place—for more efficient and sustainable construction. With a Zero Drawing approach, we build directly from 3D models instead of 2D drawings, maximizing value every step of the way.
