At ABC, we combine strong engineering expertise and full-service consulting with a culture where curiosity, collaboration, and adaptability drive the quality of our work.

ABC Consulting Engineers provides consulting and engineering services to the construction and industrial sectors, with a focus on transformation and new construction. Together with our private and public sector partners, we deliver comprehensive solutions that benefit and positively impact people and society.

We are a mid-sized engineering firm with all engineering disciplines in-house, and we cover all project types and sectors, including residential, commercial, educational, healthcare, hotel, pharmaceutical, industrial, and data center construction.

Our solutions are based on solid experience, a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to creating value for our clients, partners, and the community around us. We believe that the best results come when expertise, curiosity, and collaboration go hand in hand, and that is the mindset we bring to all our partnerships.

Founded in 2010, we have over 200 skilled specialists across 14 departments
Spread across two offices in Glostrup, Copenhagen, and Papirfabrikken, Silkeborg
Denmark’s second-largest certified engineering firm, with 17 certified structural engineers—five of whom are certified to KK3/4 standards—and nine certified fire safety consultants, three of whom are certified to BK3/4 standards and perform third-party inspections

Our History

2010

On May 16, 2010, Ammar Al-Temimi and his DTU classmate, Bartek Clausen, founded AB Clausen. They established the company in Ammar’s parents’ basement in Hvidovre, marking the beginning of the company’s journey.

2013

ABC transitions from “Consulting Engineers and Architects” to “Best in Structures”—structures are at the core of our services and, for the first many years, also the DNA of ABC.

2016

ABC shifts from B2C to B2B clients—and begins winning major projects, including Villa Copenhagen, Irmabyen, and others. In 2016, we also win our first Børsen Gazelle Award (which later becomes eight in a row).

2018

We begin to strategically focus on “Competency-Based Consulting”—we call this the “Competency Wheel.” We establish a department dedicated to delivering holistic solutions through interdisciplinary project management. ABC brings together a network of specialized consultants across various disciplines—and is thus able to provide all types of consulting services within the construction sector.

2021

After 11 years, AB Clausen changes its name to ABC Consulting Engineers. This change is primarily intended to reflect the development the company has undergone since its founding in 2010. A new logo is also designed.

2021

We are closing our office in Silkeborg—reducing our total number of offices from four to two. This is a strategic decision to minimize our geographic footprint, as we believe that fewer locations—and thus more knowledge concentrated in fewer places—is the right path for ABC’s development.

2021

ABC establishes a Sustainability Department with the goal of reconciling business profitability with social and environmental responsibility. The construction industry accounts for a significant portion of total climate impacts, and therefore ABC also has a responsibility to take the lead in reducing environmental impacts.

2021

We are establishing a Fire Safety Department to strengthen our capabilities in a key area of the construction industry. We are seeing increased demand for fire safety services and a need to have our own specialists on projects. The department has a clear goal of being involved from the very early design phase all the way through to project completion, and achieving a high proportion of certified professionals is also a key objective.

2023

We are moving to Glostrup into our largest office to date: a transformation of an existing 3,000 m² single-story station center (in 2026, we will expand by an additional 1,200 m²).

2023

Larger and more complex projects require us to expand our range of consulting services, so we’re establishing an installation department. The department is a central element of our strategy for the coming years, which focuses, among other things, on anchoring ABC even more firmly in more complex projects. It also enables us to create the most qualified and holistic projects internally across disciplines.

2025

ABC wins the Renovation Award for the second time with the groundbreaking Thoravej 29 project (in 2019, we won with Hotel Herman K). Thoravej 29 wins for its uncompromising approach to sustainability and reuse and also wins a number of other national and international awards that year, including Licitationen’s Building of the Year, Berlingske’s Best in the City, the International Urban Projects Award 2025 (IUPA), the Nykredit Foundation’s Sustainability Award, and others.
