In addition, facilities for approximately 17 staff members will be established.

Approximately 1,050 m² will be constructed on a small lot, which means that a large portion of the play area will be located on the roof.

Construction quality is a priority for the City of Copenhagen; therefore, the building must be robust and easy to maintain, as it must be able to withstand heavy daily use by many people. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on flexible design principles and functional layout, ensuring the building is future-proofed to accommodate changes in educational trends.

The roof of the facility will feature a utility room and additional play areas, screened by vertical wooden slats. The roof will be landscaped with rectangular plant beds that serve as space dividers for the various play activities on the roof.

The building is constructed with load-bearing rear walls made of precast concrete elements and simple load-bearing partition walls. Precast concrete hollow-core slabs span between the walls.

The building is founded on drilled concrete piles/well foundations with self-supporting foundation beams and a ground floor slab. The ground floor slab is constructed as an in-situ cast concrete slab that acts as a self-supporting structure and spans between point and strip foundations as well as supplementary bored pile foundations.

The design process began with a project proposal and regulatory submissions prior to the summer of 2020, followed by the main design phase.

The building is being constructed in accordance with the Low-Energy Class in the Building Regulations, and it has also been selected by the City of Copenhagen to meet DGNB Gold certification.
