Nature of the Project
Clever’s flagship electric vehicle charging station is being built on Strevelinsvej and will cover just over 600 square meters.
The goal is to meet the basic needs for charging electric vehicles while offering visitors much more than just a charging station.
A key driver of technological innovation in the electric vehicle industry is time—primarily in terms of increasing the range of electric vehicles while reducing charging time. The charging station is therefore designed to supply electric cars with power in the same way that a gas station supplies fuel-powered vehicles.
The charging station is equipped with the latest charging stations capable of delivering power in record time. The structure itself consists of 12 “canopies” that serve as a roof over the charging stations.
The canopy is constructed of glued-laminated timber beams and steel columns clad in glued-laminated timber. The roof filters light and shade.
The area covers 600 m², and the structure occupies approximately 400 m².
The structure consists of braced glulam beams spanning up to 3.8 meters. To accommodate the architect’s design, the glulam beams are arranged in a varying cross-section.
The roof structure, which consists of glulam beams, is supported by columns made of steel pipes. The steel tubes are also used, among other things, for conduits for electricity, downspouts, etc. These must be able to withstand significant deflection caused by, among other things, asymmetrical snow loads.
The roof structure consists of 8 triangles, some of which are constructed with roof panels, while the rest feature openings.
