Project Description
In 2022, construction will begin on 198 new public family homes in the new town of Vinge, just outside Frederikssund.
VINGE is a new development consisting of 9 housing types spread across 3 housing groups. The homes will be built as 2-, 3-, and 4-room units ranging in size from approximately 70 to 100 m². They will be built as two-story townhouses as well as apartments in high-rise buildings of up to 10 stories. The homes will feature either a balcony or a terrace, and all buildings with more than two stories will have an elevator.
In addition, green communal areas will be established, offering plenty of opportunities to socialize and become part of the community and urban life in the new town.
The homes will be built in three residential clusters, all connected to a central recreational area—Æblehaven. The homes will stretch from the western end of Vinge into the green wedge and the future S-train station, which is scheduled to open in December 2020.
The buildings will be constructed using prefabricated concrete elements with various roof types and a basement. The structures will feature hollow-core slabs spanning between concrete walls. The exterior walls will be constructed as sandwich-panel walls with a 200-mm-thick load-bearing rear wall and a facing panel of varying thickness, creating a play of textures in the facade that combines both brick and concrete.
ABC has engaged SINUZ Consulting Engineers as a sub-consultant for selected engineering services on the project.
