Nature of the Project
Enghave Brygge is part of the urban development areas in Copenhagen’s Sydhavn, where residential and commercial developments are planned for the former port industrial areas along the attractive waterfront.
The area has been under development since 2002, when the vision was to create a greener and more diverse neighborhood. Enghave Brygge consists of 10 newly constructed islands, which, when fully developed, will accommodate approximately 2,600 new homes and 1,600 jobs.
The design of Construction Site ØA includes approximately 23,503 m² of residential construction and approximately 1,000 m² of daycare facilities—all within a building of up to 10 stories, including the basement area. The development will include 218 apartments, 25 of which are public housing units totaling 2,500 m², to be leased by FSB.
A 2,000 m² waterproof parking basement will be constructed with space for 75 cars, along with storage and bicycle parking. The basement will be constructed using prefabricated column elements and cast-in-place walls and slabs. Nobelholmen opens up toward the harbor promenade and the marina, with building heights ranging from four to eight stories.
All apartments feature either a balcony or a terrace and are designed with careful consideration for optimal views and natural light.
Furthermore, the building is being constructed on an artificial island and thus requires particularly strong expertise in concrete construction, as the surrounding water and the challenges this presents during construction have been taken into account.
