Nature of the Project
On the former scout campground on Kollekollevej in Værløse, a new residential development comprising a total of 33 units is being built, designed with a focus on both the architectural quality of the structure and a high standard of living for the residents.
The approximately 3,500 m² development consists of 2–3 stories with staggered floor heights and was designed with the ambition of creating a new, distinctive landmark for the area and strengthening the connection between the development and Værløse’s town center.
Throughout the project, efforts have been made to harmonize attractive housing, durable materials, and strong communal spaces. The result will be a modern residential development where architecture, functionality, and social gathering spaces work in close harmony to create an attractive place to live for future residents.
The project also includes a shared rooftop terrace with a view of Hareskoven, where a greenhouse and planters will foster a sense of community and encourage social activities among residents.
Structurally, the building is constructed with cast-in-place point and strip foundations that extend to stable soil layers and form the basis for the self-supporting ground-floor slab.
The load-bearing structures above ground consist primarily of prefabricated concrete wall elements and prestressed hollow-core slabs that span between the walls and serve as both floor separators and the roof structure. Roof surfaces are clad with sedum, which contributes to the building’s green profile and rainwater management.
The facades are primarily constructed of brick with elements of wood cladding, while wood-aluminum windows provide natural light and create bright living spaces. The facade structure consists of concrete-element back walls and an exterior brick facade, ensuring a robust and durable construction.
The project also includes several steel structures, including columns to support walkways and stairs along the north facade, as well as steel beams and Peikko beams to support the hollow-core slabs.
The internal staircases are constructed as precast concrete staircases, while the exterior staircases and access ways are constructed as steel structures.
The combination of precast concrete elements and steel solutions contributes to an efficient construction process and high structural robustness, and the choice of materials supports the buildings’ robust and timeless appearance while ensuring high quality in future operation and maintenance.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with Arkitema, EKB Bolig, and other consultants.
