Project Type
Near Taastrup Station, close to Selsmosen, Park Street Nordicom is constructing 440 modern studio apartments as part of a major expansion of the Taastrup Station Center.
The project adds 6,000 m² spread across four new floors, which will house student housing, communal lounge areas, and a rooftop terrace.
The units are being built according to the innovative Pulse concept, which combines space efficiency with social common areas and a price point that makes them attractive to students. The Pulse system, which is also being used in the construction project on Hejrevej in Copenhagen, focuses on community and flexibility in modern student housing.
ABC is the lead consultant on the project and is responsible for both the structural engineering and internal coordination within the complex project organization.
The new floors are being constructed using prefabricated, steel-framed modular elements, which are manufactured in Latvia and shipped to Denmark by sea—an efficient and sustainable production method that ensures a fast and precise construction process.
The modules in the Taastrup project allow for up to three stories, but the technology has the potential for even taller buildings in the future.
To ensure stable integration between the existing building and the new modules, ABC has developed an advanced transfer zone that optimally distributes the load. The original columns are designed to bear the vertical load, but new walls have been added to ensure stability against wind loads.
In addition, new foundations are being installed beneath the additional walls to strengthen the building’s overall structure.
At ABC, we specialize in sustainable construction projects where the reuse of materials is incorporated
from the very beginning. This minimizes waste of usable building materials and reduces the need to produce new building materials. Pulse T is Swan-labeled, with the certification divided into two separate categories: new construction and renovation.
