Project Type
At Vesterbrogade 107C, in central Copenhagen, CPH Invest is constructing a 1,500 m² multi-story building.
The building will consist of six stories above ground and one story below ground.
The basement is designed to accommodate 34 storage rooms, 2 utility rooms, and common areas for use by future residents. The ground floor will house small retail spaces, and the youth housing units will be distributed across five floors, from the first to the fifth. Selected apartments facing the courtyard will feature small balconies.
The building is served by a stairwell and an elevator shaft. An existing slaughterhouse building from 1880 is located on the property; it will be demolished and replaced by this new structure, which will be wedged between two existing buildings. The structural systems will consist of in-situ concrete foundations and cantilevered slabs, as well as steel frames; the gables on the 5th floor will be constructed using wooden modules.
The future building will include a gate that, among other things, will provide fire trucks with access to the courtyard area.
The design was carried out in close collaboration with the client, CPH Invest, and the contractor throughout the project phases, including the regulatory design phase, the main design phase, and project follow-up during construction.
The construction work is being carried out as a turnkey contract by the Harder Group, with Holscher Norberg serving as architectural consultant and AB Clausen as engineering consultant.
