At ABC Consulting Engineers, structural engineering has always been part of our DNA. This is where we started, and today we are one of the country’s leading consulting firms in this field. Our structural engineering services are distributed across a number of different departments, which together comprise more than 70 specialists, structural engineers, project managers, certified structural engineers, and heads of expertise across our offices in Glostrup and Silkeborg.

Today, we are one of Denmark’s largest certification firms and possess strong, broad experience across building types and sectors. Whether the project involves new construction, transformation, or renovation, we have the expertise to execute projects safely and efficiently, and we have experience with all building types and functions. We handle all aspects of design—from load-bearing structures and wall systems to foundations, building envelopes, and other structural components. In our work, we continuously incorporate input from other disciplines to ensure that the structural elements work optimally with the architecture, building systems, and client requirements.

Constructability is a key focus. We prioritize solutions that can be executed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, and that minimize risks during the construction phase. The result is a more robust project process and structures that work in practice—not just in theory.

As one of Denmark’s largest certification firms in the field of structural engineering, we offer certification for all types of construction projects in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Building Code. We provide certification across all consequence classes—from KK2 to KK3/4—and also perform third-party inspections.

For us, certification is not a final inspection that creates bottlenecks. We actively work to integrate certified engineers closely into the projects. This means they contribute as part of the project team, ensuring that potential challenges are identified early and quality is enhanced throughout the entire process.

We ensure that all structures are properly designed in accordance with the Eurocodes and the Danish annexes. Our work includes advanced FEM calculations, including analyses of stresses and deformations in complex geometric structures under varying loads.

Regardless of complexity, we deliver precise, well-documented solutions that provide peace of mind and safety throughout the project’s lifecycle.

A key tool is our in-house developed platform, ABConcept, which allows us to test many different design concepts in a short amount of time. This provides a significantly better basis for decision-making, reduces the carbon footprint of our projects, and ensures that we can optimize our solutions down to the finest detail.

We thrive on close collaboration with all parties involved in the construction process—architects, contractors, and building owners. Our approach is dialogue-based, solution-oriented, and characterized by respect for the shared process. Internally, our own disciplines work closely together, but we place just as much emphasis on external collaboration, where we create value by integrating our areas of expertise.

ABConcept is a 3D design tool for optimizing structures and reducing the carbon footprint

Our digital design tool, ABConcept, allows you to test multiple concepts, optimize structures, and reduce the carbon footprint in the very earliest phases of a project. ABConcept provides immediate feedback on the climate impact of changes to geometry, materials, and design principles.

This creates a transparent, data-driven foundation early on for making better decisions, as the tool automates a number of manual work processes that normally require extensive calculations and iterations. Here, ABConcept can quickly scan and compare a large number of proposed solutions and visualize their consequences in a short amount of time.
